Wish: Remember Viewport/Camera lock when rendering with iterative (V-Ray)

3ds max 2021 + RPM 7.05 + V-Ray Next update 3.2

Workflow:
I set up different RPM passes with bucket rendering
Switch to a pass where I wish to tweak something (eg. move an object or light)
Click on Selected in Preview: at the lower left corner of RPM
Stop the render in the now open V-Ray VFB
Click the iterative button in the V-Ray VFB
Start moving my light/object/etc in different viewports
But - the render will start rendering each new viewport instead of my camera

My solution right now is to add these extra steps:
Make the desired camera viewport active
Open max render settings dialog
Click the Lock button next to the "View to Render" dropdown
Close max render settings dialog
Click the iterative button in V-Ray VFB

If I select another RPM pass, I will have to do these steps all over again.

Is there a workaround or a smarter way to go about this?
