I have no usefull input, olly. It's hard to guess if you don't even get some kind of error notification.
You may wan't to start a new bug thread, to catch Grant's attention, and to seperate the issue from this one.

Hi

The output in the submission feedback dialog is also written to a file during submission so you can inspect post-closing that dialog - if you check your ../<3dsmaxroot>/scripts/RPManager directory, look for

SubmitLog.txt

and see if it has any relevant information to why it stopped part way and send my way if there is. I will try to repro here - that the dialog is closing when it shouldn't might help track it down.
